About North County Players 2025-26 president, Charles Carr
Charles Carr is a multiple award-winning, nationally published author (Eldridge, Heartland).
Charles has written thousands of newspaper articles, stories, and columns for prominent national publications. Many of his essays appear in college textbooks published by Macmillan; St. Martin's Press; Bedford, Freeman & Worth; and associated imprints.
Carr is also a noted television producer/director of short documentaries which have aired on Cox Cable and elsewhere.
Carr's background in the world of journalism has created an excellent basis for penning scripts and stage plays, most of which have a classical literature, historical, or true crime footing. His theatrical works have been produced at prestigious venues across the nation and attended by thousands. Shows include All the Time in the World; Mark Twain's A Christmas Carol; Passage Into Fear; Old Dogs, Dirty Tricks; Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Christmas Angels; Mr. Scrooge & Mr. Dickens; and The Dangerous Christmas. Carr's newest show, Hope Springs Eternal, was performed over ten sold-out shows Dec. 2024 at the California Center for the Arts.
Carr is also author of What a World, a collection of vignettes chronicling twenty years living in the So Cal back country.
